Hiding storage accounts for different apps using profiles
You can control which storage accounts are visible in different Astiga apps by creating profiles. This allows you to show or hide specific storage accounts depending on which app you’re using to access your music library.
For example, you might want to:
- Show only specific storage accounts when using the iOS mobile app
- Hide certain storage accounts when using Sonos
- Create different library views for different apps and devices
Creating a profile
To create an app profile:
-
Navigate to Settings and select Profiles from the sidebar menu.

If you haven’t created any profiles yet, you’ll see an explanation that your complete music library is visible on all apps.

-
Click Create Profile (or Add if you already have profiles).
You’ll be shown a form to create a profile:

- Enter a Profile Name that describes the purpose of this profile (for example, “Mobile Only” or “Web Player - Jazz Collection”).
Selecting which app this profile applies to
In the When to activate section:
-
Select which app this profile should apply to from the dropdown (see Apps that support profiles)
The profile will automatically activate whenever you use the selected app.
Selecting which storage accounts to show or hide
In the What to show section:
-
Choose the filter type:
- Show only selected storage accounts: Only the storage accounts you select will be visible in this app
- Hide selected storage accounts: All storage accounts except the ones you select will be visible
-
Select the storage accounts you want to include in the filter by checking the boxes next to each storage account name.
As you make your selections, the Preview section will update to show you exactly what will happen when this profile is active.

Saving the profile
Click Save Profile to activate your new profile. The next time you use the selected app, only the storage accounts specified in the profile will be visible.
Apps that support profiles
The following apps and other music players are supported by profiles:
- Android app
- iOS app (Kumulus)
- Sonos
- DSub
- Symfonium
- Feishin
- Tempo
- All other apps (any app not specifically listed)
Apps
Let us know if you’d like us to add additional apps to the list! We need to know the User-Agent or Subsonic client parameter they send.
Managing existing profiles
Once created, profiles appear on the Profiles page. Each profile shows:
- The profile name
- Which app it applies to
- Which storage accounts it shows or hides

You can:
- Edit a profile to change its name, app, or storage account selections
- Delete a profile to remove it (the affected app will then see all storage accounts again)
🚀 Developing feature!
App profiles are a developing feature with additional capabilities planned for future releases.
Currently, profiles can filter content by storage account. In the future, profiles may support filtering by:
- Artist or album
- Genre
- Year
- File format or bitrate
- Other library attributes
In addition, the profiles themselves need not refer to apps - they could be applied:
- At different times of day
- Given different play histories
- Given different global library data
This will allow even more precise control over what content is visible.
Let us know how you’d like to see this feature develop!
