Astiga comparisons

Astiga is a streaming service for your own music. That’s a little different to a lot of services - we don’t provide music for you, and yet we do provide the platform from which you can stream your own music.

Sometimes it’s helpful to understand how something works by comparing it to other services. We’ve written a few pages with how Astiga differs to other popular music services.

Plex

Both Plex and Astiga allow you to stream your music. Plex is self-hosted software that you install yourself. Astiga is hosted, so you connect your existing music to it.

Google Play Music is now defunct, but when it existed it was a similar service to Astiga, allowing your own music to be streamed. Over time, Google preferred access to its own content, whereas Astiga is always centered around your own library.

iBroadcast and Astiga both allow you to stream your own music. The main difference is that iBroadcast stores the music itself, while Astiga allows you to connect other storage services.
